The photo's slide is to prompt discussion on where Algebra may be relevant. If algebra is the recognition of patterns, application of assumptions, trial and improvement and sticking with what works then everyone has already proved they are good at Algebra by learning to talk as a child (hence the babies photo).
The clouds are interchanged with the much feared x, and the difficult question asked (but not answered) early on to allow pupils to see where they are heading and hopefully to give a seemingly impossible question that they will be able to answer by the end of the lesson.
